What is Whiplash?

The word whiplash is thrown around a lot, but what does it really mean? Whiplash is a fairly common neck injury that occurs when someone experiences rapid acceleration to deceleration. Although there is no guaranteed way to avoid whiplash, there are things you can do to reduce your chances of it happening to you. Wearing your seatbelt correctly, which means fitting it to your size and keeping the top strap across your chest will help reduce rapid body movement. In addition, head restraints work similarly, but if you do not install them correctly, they can increase hyper-extension.
